Union Iron Works on the Potrero San Francisco

The company was located at Twentieth and Illinois Sts. and built the Olympic, Admiral Dewey's flagship at Manila, and the Oregon, also famed in the Spanish-American War.

Between 1919 and 1938 it built oil tankers, freighters, passenger ships and many warships, including the submarine Grampus, at the bottom of this page.

It was acquired by the Bethlehem Shipbuilding Company in 1906, but kept the old name until 1917.
