The Navy arrives

Workers
on the West Bay towers watched as 12 battleships, including the Arizona; 18
destroyers; and two aircraft carriers entered the Bay. The Saratoga is at far
left.

The Navy held open house sending small boats to a pier near the Ferry
Building for visitors. I would read the name on the boat's bow to decide what
ship I wanted to visit next. I was 13 years old. It was a great experience.
