I
had always thought that my mother, Ellen, and my Aunt Nita, had common sense and
could handle any task. After all they had survived the San Francisco
Earthquake and Fire of 1906 and the perils of being actresses on the road in
vaudeville and stage shows from
1910 to 1922.
But what ever possessed them to take a four year old boy to Europe in
1926? I never asked them.
Anyway here are the snapshots and story of my childhood trip.
